It may be Barbie Wednesday but today I am focusing on Barbie's little sister Skipper. She was introduced in 1964.



This is her Silk and Fancy outfit (1964-1965).


And this one is her Red Coat set (1964-1965). I think it's sad that in 1973 Mattel stopped naming it's fashions and began referring to them only by number.


Through out all the years of Barbie I am amazed at how well Skipper has managed to stick around!

Oh, the Silk and Fancy outfit! Lindsey, if you only knew how often my eyes well up on Barbie Wednesdays! I LOVED my Barbie. And my Skipper.

I love Skipper's red coat and matching handbag. My sister had the 1970's Skipper that grew up (and out).
